the Girl who Gave it All Away for the Guy who Threw it All Away

it was never a simple matter when it came to her.
send her the right signs and she'll be fine.
send her the wrong signs and she'll fall apart.
she had a very complex way of thinking.

it was always a simple matter when it came to him.
he didn't care about signals.
nothing could phase his cold frame of mind.
he had a very dark outlook.

she was feeble and broken.
weeks turn to months and the months fade to years.
so many mistakes, so many lessons learned.
she was ready to give it all away.

he was strong and he was selfish.
as time sped by him, he didn't even take the time to notice.
so many second chances, no lessons learned.
he was ready to throw it all away.

she had blood shot eyes that could take no more.
everything she could try, she had.
no stone unturned, she was constantly looking for the cure.
that's all she ever wanted, his happiness.

he had eyes as black as the starless night sky.
everything he could try, he hadn't.
he didn't care about a remedy.
all he ever wanted was his own happiness.

she was down on her knees begging for his love.
begging for it to pour down upon her pale colored face.
she knew it would make the bad disappear.
she knew she had nothing left to loose after she gave it all away for him.

he was standing tall on his strong legs, mocking her pleas.
the only thing he would pour over her were words that cut her to the bone.
he knew how to make her monsters eat her insides.
he knew he was in control, he knew it was his to throw away.

she could take no more.
give her a push out the door, and she was on her way.
she picked up her luggage, bit her lip.
and as she walked out the door, the words "i hate you" slammed the door shut.

he was appauled by her giving up.
he pushed her out the door.
he threw her bags out on the cold ground.
as she walked out of his life he screamed the words "i hate you" as she drove off.

she looked into the mirror.
dead silence, no movement, just concentration.
how had she become the woman she is today?
as she put the pistol in her mouth.

he looked in the mirror.
listening to some loud rock music, getting ready for the night.
how had he become the man he is today?
as he put on his favorite leather jacket.

she was cold at first touch.
her parents shocked at what they saw before them.
a beautiful and bright young loving woman
tore down by a mans hatred.

he was hot from dancing to the loud club music, until he heard the news.
he was shocked at what he was told.
his beautiful and bright young loving wife
tore down by his own hatred.

she was a work of art.
laying all dolled up within her casket.
as her family and friends looked at her with great sadness.
if only they would have knew the depths of her sadness.

he was a total wreck.
he hadn't slept since he heard of her death.
as he looked upon her lifeless body with nothing but regrets.
if only he would have known the depths of her love.

they laid her in the ground that day.
as her loved ones cried out in grief.
with the last shovel of dirthe looked to her tombstone.

it read:
when a girl is willing to give it all away
for a guy who is willing to throw it all away.
someone always ends up getting hurt.
